Changing Stories - Through Compassionate Inquiry Therapy

What Is Compassionate Inquiry Therapy?

Compassionate Inquiry (CI) is a psychotherapeutic approach developed by Dr. Gabor Maté that reveals what lies beneath the appearance we present to the world. We utilize the CI approach to compliment our coaching work on the human mindset.

Using Compassionate Inquiry, both the individual and therapist unveil the level of consciousness, mental climate, hidden assumptions, implicit memories and body states that form the real message that words both express and conceal.

Through our CI approach, the client can recognize the unconscious mindset dynamics that impact their lives and how to liberate themselves from them to allow for a more connected, playful, intimate and constructive state. The power of decreasing the impacts of one's defensive mindsets, enhancing one's self-awareness, becoming more conscious in the use of all mindsets and accessing the internally motivating constructive mindsets is deeply liberating, life changing.

The purpose of Compassionate Inquiry is to drill down to the core stories people tell themselves – to get them to see what story they are telling themselves unconsciously; what those beliefs are, where they came from; and guide them to the possibility of letting go of those stories, or letting go of the hold those stories have on them…

That’s what Compassionate Inquiry is... a very gentle and deeper therapeutic compliment to our mindset processing work.

What to Expect?

A typical Compassionate Inquiry session will enable you to explore ways that will help you build the capacity for:

  • understanding your mindset and how defensive states create much of the story you tell yourself.

  • recognizing and paying attention to your body sensations and being more present.

  • enhancing your perception of what is not being revealed overtly.

  • developing the ability to access emotional states through body awareness.

  • being able to express what has remained unexpressed.

  • being deeply curious and practice staying in the present moment experience

  • accessing early traumatic events from childhood, as well as unconscious feeling states through the compassionately inquiring approach.

  • shifting the perceptions, mindsets and beliefs that stand in the way of you being truly authentic.

Client - Therapist Fit

Frank's goal as a Compassionate Inquiry practitioner is to hold a safe space for you to be vulnerable to experience what is going on in your body and mind.

He will help guide you through your unconscious, sensations, emotions, and memories your body holds. On this exploration, he will walk alongside you as you uncover the hidden beliefs you hold about yourself. With this newfound awareness, you can begin to shift these beliefs on your journey towards a place of greater self-compassion, peace, and healing.

Frank is a certified practitioner through Human Synergistics International and a Compassionate Inquiry therapist practitioner, focusing on clients who wish to change difficult habitual patterns, or gain insight and strength in their recovery from addictions or trauma.
