COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

As Sustainable Business Leaders

Peak Experiences associates are proudly engage in local and provincial sustainable development initiatives.

In the spring of 2003, we made the decision to make the commitment to take a major shift in our work by adding leading edge consulting in “environmental sustainability” to our services. Through the development of solid relationships with key local, provincial and international organizations, we have developed the materials and processes that allows us to provide the support, resources and inspiration for those in leadership positions who are wrestling with the challenges of moving their organization or community along a path of sustainable development and triple bottom-line philosophies.

We value our ability to deliver high-quality services to our clients while actively participating in community-based projects that advance the social, environmental and human capital of Atlantic Canadian communities while ensuring the strong protection of the ecological integrity that all businesses and organizations are based upon. In our own commitment to sustainable business practices, our associates are proud members of the following not-for-profit organization;

  • Antigonish Sustainable Development: (founder and current board chair) a project aimed at helping businesses, families and individuals become early adopters of environmentally and socially sustainable practices through education, information and active participation in making the communities in North Eastern Nova Scotia roles models for being leading sustainable communities in Canada.
  • The Fresh Air Society: (co-founder and executive member) a volunteer community-based group that works with grassroots groups, youth, adults, elders, and community leaders to assist people in creating changes in order to enhance awareness and to reduce the impact we have on local ecosystems.
  • Nova Scotia Outdoor Leadership Development Program [NSOLD]: a co-operative program with the Nova Scotia Department of Health, Promotion and Protection aims to enhance the quality and quantity of safe and competent outdoor leaders in Nova Scotia through a comprehensive, experiential leadership development process.
  • Antigonish 2020 Foresight: A community visioning project which asks, “Close your eyes, clear your mind and relax; when you open your eyes it is the year 2020. What do you hope to see?”
